BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT: WFP Mozambique is preparing its new Country Strategic Plan (CSP) for 2027–2030 in a rapidly evolving global landscape marked by constrained humanitarian and development financing and shifting donor priorities. At the same time, Mozambique is facing a convergence of shocks, including climate-related events, conflict, and economic pressures, that challenge traditional multi-year planning and require more diversified, innovative, and strategic partnerships. Building on progress achieved under the current CSP, the Country Office has strengthened its engagement with the Government of Mozambique and expanded collaboration with International Financial Institutions (IFIs) as part of an effort to diversify funding sources and enhance programmatic impact. This aligns with WFP’s corporate priorities to broaden partnerships with governments, IFIs, and knowledge actors to support countries in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 2 (Zero Hunger). To consolidate and further advance these efforts, WFP Mozambique seeks a Partnerships Officer to support the analysis, cultivation, and strategic positioning of partnerships, with a particular focus on IFIs and Development Financial Institutions (DFIs). The incumbent will lead the identification of opportunities, support engagement planning, and strengthen WFP’s role in tripartite collaboration with government and financial institutions. Working under the supervision of the Head of External Relations and in close coordination with management and programme teams, the incumbent will also contribute to the broader partnership’s portfolio. This includes maintaining relations with selected government donors and supporting overall resource mobilization and positioning efforts.
